MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all duties listed below: Promotes safety and working safely throughout the facility to prevent injury to self and co-workers, addressing unsafe conditions & behaviors, Inspects work area daily. Adhering to all Silgan Safety Policies & Standards, Silgan Plastics No Tolerance Policy and Product Defense Security. Reading and understanding all "Safety Rules" items as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). GMP required gear. Contribute to our Product Safety culture, by following the GMP Guidelines and Good Documentation practices. Being aware of all Emergency Exits and knowing procedures for Emergency Evacuation as well as location of Tornado Shelter and Evacuation Assembly Area. Accessing and searching for SDS (Safety Data Sheets) online and how to utilize properly Knowing not to operate any equipment or perform any work without the proper training and authorization to do complete the task safely. Always following proper LOTO lock out/tag out procedures. Reporting all injuries or incidents to your supervisor immediately. Understanding the good housekeeping guidelines in the Employee Handbook. Attend daily 2-6-2 or production meeting according to job title during shift for job assignments, safety updates, and/or specific meetings or training as posted on bulletin boards. Reading and understanding specific information pertaining to your job duties and classification (i.e., Silgan BOM) Specifications, Job Safety Analysis, Work Instructions, Plant Memos, etc. Always asking for help before completing a task or job duty that is unsafe or you are unsure of the proper way to complete. Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
