SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Wage starts at $27.45 based on experience

We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. In this position, you will help repair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, a micrometer, and grinding machines. Our ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school and has at least one year of manufacturing experience. Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plus.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job
• Repair and manufacture certain machine components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, milling machine, drill press, micrometer, and grinding machines
• Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components
• Operate machines to grind, cut, and polish the materials
• Finish projects using manual tools
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure they remain in good working order

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: apprenticeship or machine certificate from a vocational school

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: 1 year prior manufacturing experience

SKILLS:

Preferred:

• Machinist vocational certificate or completed industry apprenticeship
• Manual dexterity
• Lathe machining experience
• Milling machine experience
• Surface grinder experience
• Blueprinting reading skills
• Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a plus
• Proficient with measuring tools

Salary $27.45 per hour

8 hour day shift Monday through Friday
