Silgan Containers is hiring a Palletizer Operator for our highspeed, stateoftheart manufacturing plant in Burlington, Iowa. As a key member of our production team, you will help ensure safe, accurate, and efficient palletizing, packaging, and material handling operations. If you have experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or forklift operation, this role is an excellent fit.

Schedule

• Begin training on first shift, working 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. After training, move to a consistent night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This is a fixed schedule. You will not rotate between day and night shifts.

• Follow a 2-2-3 schedule, where you work two days, take two days off, then work three days. This pattern repeats weekly, giving you every other weekend off.

What You Will Do as a Palletizer Operator:

• Operate palletizer and packaging equipment to safely palletize and box cans

• Place sleeves into cartons and apply snakewrap to pallets
• Manually load shells into production equipment
• Complete required paperwork and electronic reporting
• Assist Line Mechanics with basic repairs and preventive maintenance
• Operate forklifts as needed
• Perform general utility tasks such as baler cleaning or snow removal
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Support training of new employees and trainees
• Perform additional duties as directed by Supervisor or Management

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work at high speeds and handle multiple tasks
• Dependability and willingness to work rotating 12hour shifts
• Ability to become forklift certified
• Ability to work at heights using steps or ladders

Preferred Experience:

• Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or packaging experience
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
• Experience using mechanical tools such as micrometers or calipers
