In this hands-on role, you’ll receive full training to operate a variety of advanced machines that play a key part in creating precision components for the semiconductor industry. From engraving and waterjet cutting to cleaning, lapping, and polishing, you’ll learn to master equipment that transforms raw materials into high-performance parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate machines that support the Silfex manufacturing and finishing processes Learn and perform 5S in and around work area by enacting lock out/tag out Develop proficiency in 1–2 designated processes through hands-on training and experience Learn and apply Silfex policies and procedures to perform routine tasks effectively and safely Follow all material handling requirements to ensure quality of product and equipment Read and interpret assembly drawings, follow all work instructions, setup sheets and process specifications Record quality and production data accurately and promptly in batch records, ERP systems, and productivity or quality logs Ensure cleanliness of the area and perform general and routine housekeeping tasks Ensure equipment is functioning properly by performing routine and minor maintenance. Initiate maintenance work orders when necessary to support operational efficiency. Develop and maintain competency in basic troubleshooting of equipment Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate Perform other duties and projects as assigned Culture: Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex. Wear all PPE as required by work area or job function. Communication – Begin with the end in mind – Communicate boldly as well as effectively with empathy and respect to inspire teamwork and collaboration vertically and horizontally within Silfex. Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High School Diploma or General Education (GED) is required 0-1 year of manufacturing experience Ability and willingness to efficiently and effectively operate equipment in cleanroom apparel for 12-hour shifts and work safely around hazardous chemicals Ability to learn how to interpret instructions and assess drawings to ensure product quality. Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web-based platform Must be safety and quality minded Attention to detail is required Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to support the pace of work in the manufacturing area Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision Good verbal and written communication skills Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to perform donning and doffing of required PPE while entering in and out of cleanroom type environments multiple times over the course of a shift. The employee is also frequently required to reach with hands and arms; walk, stand or sit; talk or hear and occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate. The employee is required to wear cleanroom gowns (including hood and mask) for the duration of a 12-hour shift on a regular basis and other PPE including respirator, acid PPE as needed.
