Senior Full Stack Platform Engineer

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our engineering team to support platform modernization and increased enterprise demand. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Platform Engineer to help architect and strengthen the core systems that power our infrastructure. 

This is an architect-level individual contributor role focused exclusively on backend systems, web applications, cloud infrastructure, and real-time architecture. The position works closely with existing engineering team members to elevate and mature our platform architecture while championing AI-augmented engineering workflows and automation across the team. Mobile development is not part of this role.

You will partner in designing and implementing a scalable, resilient WebSocket-based real-time communication layer while improving the reliability, scalability, and operational maturity of our Google Cloud infrastructure. This role requires strong architectural judgment, hands-on execution, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a 24/7 production environment. 

Responsibilities:

• Partner in evolving overall system architecture and technical standards. 
• Architect scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems. 
• Design, build, and maintain APIs and services (Java / SpringBoot). 
• Optimize database performance and schema design. 
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and RBAC frameworks. 
• Design and implement a WebSocket-based real-time communication framework from the ground up. 
• Architect and optimize deployments in Google Cloud. 
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows. 
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, and incident response practices. 
• Maintain high availability and production reliability in a 24/7 environment. 
• Reduce technical debt while maintaining production stability. 
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity, automated testing coverage, code quality, documentation generation, and operational insights across the platform. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 7 years of backend or full stack engineering experience. 
• Proven experience architecting distributed systems. 
• Strong proficiency in Java and SpringBoot. 
• Experience designing or implementing real-time systems (WebSockets or similar persistent connection technologies). 
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications in Google Cloud. 
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar). 
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. 
• Deep understanding of security, authentication, and access control. 
• Strong production debugging and incident response experience. 
• Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting mission-critical or high-availability systems. 
• Experience designing event-driven architectures. 
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms. 
• Experience in enterprise SaaS environments.
