Position Description

The Engineering Machinist will have an interest in custom machinery manufacturing with high-performance materials and will be responsible for the machining of custom parts, tooling, and engineering projects. This individual is confidently able to read and execute all engineering documentation and coordinate closely with dimensional techs, engineering, and production processes. The ideal candidate should be able to work with a fully dimensioned drawing, or a 3D model, a back of napkin sketch or just an idea! This role is progressive and will develop in accordance with skill set over time.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and designers to ensure parts are being made to design intent.
• Work with production as needed to meet production goals.
• Machine parts to appropriate dimensions with little to no supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Use CAM software to program parts to the most efficient and appropriate machining techniques.
• Use CAD software to model parts and troubleshoot designs.
• Occasional use of manual machines for various purposes
• High attention to detail to produce quality parts, have very low scrap rates and keep machining centers in top shape.
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment which emphasizes continuous learning of new skills and cross-training.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Organized, flexible, able to handle multiple tasks.

• Mastercam
• Featurecam
• Multi axis machining
• Manual mill and lathe machining
• Production atmosphere machining / Programming
• Capable with Okuma and Mori seiki control
• Lean Process Improvement Experience
• Basic understanding of SilencerCo & Zev Technologies product line
• preferred*
