Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, backhoes, water trucks, and other heavy machinery to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks.
- Transport construction materials such as gravel, dirt, asphalt, and other aggregates to designated locations on site.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with construction utility work including utility locating and horizontal drilling to support infrastructure development.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to execute site grading, excavation, paving, and other earth-moving activities efficiently.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment operation hours, maintenance records, and safety inspections.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving and heavy equipment operation within a construction setting.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate various construction equipment including excavators (Caterpillar), dozers (dozer), loaders, graders (grader operation), backhoes (Backhoe operation), water trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling rigs.
- Familiarity with construction utility work such as utility locating and excavation techniques.
- Strong understanding of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety regulations during daily operations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Construction site experience with an emphasis on paving, grading, excavation, and utility installation is preferred.
