Job description:

Silberman Law Firm, PLLC is an established real estate firm and fee attorney with offices across Texas looking for an experienced and licensed Texas escrow officer to manage and close its transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a relatively small number of real estate closings from start to finish each month as well as performing basic law firm administrative tasks. The job may be performed remotely.


Compensation

  • Base Salary: You will receive a guaranteed base salary of $85,000 - $90, 000 per year, paid on a bi-weekly pay cycle.


Key Responsibilities


Escrow Officer Duties

  • Low-Volume Closing Management: Overseeing a low-volume transaction pipeline from initial title commitment generation through closing, escrow balancing, funding, and post-closing disbursement.
  • Underwriter & TDI Compliance: Ensuring all closings comply with Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) regulations and title underwriter guidelines.
  • Client & Settlement Coordination: Maintaining clear communication with buyers, sellers, realtors, and lenders to prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs) and closing documents.


Administrative Assistant Duties

You will oversee core law firm operations, HR support, and financial administration, including but not limited to:
  • Financial & Payroll Administration: Processing bi-weekly payroll, manage Credit Card processing and disputes, internal cash transfers, CDA processing, agent service reimbursements, and processing incoming mail/check deposits.
  • HR & Employee Operations: Conduct initial HR prescreening interviews, facilitate employee onboarding/offboarding, manage BCBS benefits enrollment, and coordinate offshore employee compensation (paying invoices, bonuses, and holiday pay).
  • IT & Office Logistics: Manage new attorney credentialing, laptop setup and shipping, and coordinate daily office logistics (FedEx, mail scanning, phone coverage).
  • Legal Administrative Support: Assist attorneys with electronic deed filings, ordering process service and court reporting, and general client account management.

  • Work Location: This position is remote
  • Paid Time Off: You will receive paid major holidays and two weeks of paid vacation per year vested after 6 months.
  • Health Benefits: The firm offers elective medical insurance coverage effective upon employment. Premiums are fully paid by the employee via bi-weekly payroll deduction.
