Diesel Mechanic – Class 8 Trucks
$35–$45 per hour | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Weekends Off
Sikora Express LLC is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our established truck repair shop in Joliet, IL. This is a full-time position offering steady work, competitive pay, and weekends off.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 8 commercial trucks and can work independently in a busy diesel repair environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 semi-trucks
- Perform repairs on diesel engines and related components
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems
- Service and repair brake and suspension systems
- Diagnose and repair aftertreatment and DEF systems
- Perform general truck repairs and preventative maintenance
- Identify mechanical and electrical problems and complete repairs efficiently
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Truck Brands
Experience with the following Class 8 truck brands is preferred:
- Freightliner
- Volvo
- Peterbilt
- Kenworth
Requirements
- 3 years of diesel mechanic experience
- Class 8 commercial truck experience required
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty truck systems
- Experience with electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and aftertreatment/DEF systems
- Must have your own mechanic tools
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekends off
