We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator to join our dynamic construction team. Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal directional drilling machines safely and efficiently, following all safety regulations and equipment safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, backhoes, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform utility locating to accurately identify underground utilities before drilling operations commence, preventing damage and ensuring safety.
- Execute excavation and construction grading tasks with precision, supporting the installation of underground utilities and infrastructure.
- Drive commercial trucks to transport equipment, materials, and personnel between job sites in compliance with federal construction safety regulations.
- Assist with construction utility work by setting up drill rigs, handling heavy equipment operation, and supporting excavation activities as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment maintenance logs, safety inspections, and site progress reports.
Skills
- Proven experience operating horizontal directional drills in construction or utility installation projects.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in utility locating techniques using specialized tools and technology.
- Valid driving license with experience in commercial driving environments.
- Expertise in heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, backhoes.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety regulations on-site.
- Ability to perform construction grading accurately while maintaining site safety standards.
- Familiarity with excavation procedures, construction site experience, and utility work practices.
- Excellent understanding of equipment safety procedures and routine maintenance requirements.
