Construction Driver

Role Description The Construction Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. This role involves safely operating company trucks to transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from construction sites, ensuring timely delivery to support daily project schedules. The Construction Driver will inspect vehicles before and after use, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues to supervisors. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate delivery records, following all traffic and safety regulations, assisting with loading and unloading materials, and communicating with project managers and site teams to coordinate routes and delivery times. The role also involves professional interaction with clients, vendors, and team members to uphold Sigura Construction’s standards of service and reliability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Truck Driving with safe operation of construction trucks and related vehicles.
• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and knowledge of applicable transportation regulations.
• Strong Communication skills for coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, and team members.
• Customer Service skills to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and the public while representing the company.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Familiarity with construction sites, material handling, and safe loading/unloading practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time on-site in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a construction or delivery driver is preferred.

The right candidate for this Driver/Delivery position will:

·        Drive a company vehicle

·        Pick up materials from warehouse and/or store and deliver to job sites

·        Interact with all customers in a friendly, professional manner while providing responsive customer service

·        Perform daily inspection of assigned vehicle and its load to ensure road safety

·        Prepare and file paperwork

·        Warehouse work when there are no deliveries

Candidates should have great attendance and be punctual, possess strong customer service skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, team-player approach, valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record and can lift/carry up to 75 pounds frequently.

Prior experience with a construction company is a plus.

Able to drive a truck while pulling a trailer is a plus.

Due to Insurance requirements, the minimum age to apply is 22

• Possess a valid state driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must pass a drug and physical test
