What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-12 Vocal Music Teacher position at Sigourney Community School District?
The Sigourney Community School District is in search of a Full-time K-12 Vocal Music Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Teaching responsibilities include K-6 general music instruction and 7-12 Choir, Honor Choir and Music Concerts as well. We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and student focused leader with a strong vocal music background for our elementary and secondary Vocal Music Department.
This person will work closely with the Band Instructor in planning concerts. Must demonstrate effective classroom management skills through building positive and strong relationships with students and families. The candidate must be able to differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the needs of all learners.
Job Description
Salary is based on experience and education. Competitive Benefit Package Include: Full Single Health and Dental Plan, other benefit and supplemental plans are available as well.
Applicants must be certified in the State of Iowa or able to obtain licensure by the position start date, with an “K-12 Music” endorsement.
