Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented support to adults with mental health conditions. Using your lived experience, you will help participants build coping skills, improve daily functioning, and work toward personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer support services in participants’ homes and community settings.
- Share lived experience to inspire hope and encourage recovery.
- Assist participants with developing coping skills and wellness strategies.
- Support participants in accessing community resources and services.
- Help participants achieve goals related to independent living, employment, and social connections.
- Complete progress notes and documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Texas Peer Support Specialist certification required.
- Lived experience with mental health recovery.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass fingerprint-based background and registry checks.
Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
License/Certification:
- Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS): (Required)
- Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS): (Required)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (Preferred)
