Job Description
The Product Line Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and profitability of a specific product line or portfolio. This role serves as the business owner for the product line, working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure product success from concept to end-of-life. The Product Line Manager analyzes market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to drive product innovation, roadmap development, and go-to-market strategy.
A successful candidate must be able to:
- Own the full lifecycle of the assigned product line — from market research and roadmap planning to launch, performance tracking, and phase-out.
- Define product strategy, value propositions, and positioning based on market needs, customer feedback, and business goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to define product requirements, features, and timelines.
- Analyze product performance, pricing strategies, and margins to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.
- Act as the product line expert, supporting sales teams with training, technical documentation, and customer presentations.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage product launches and work with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, collateral, and messaging.
- Partner with operations and supply chain to ensure product availability, forecast accuracy, and cost optimization.
- Collect and prioritize customer feedback and market data to influence future product development.
- Monitor product KPIs such as revenue, gross margin, market share, and customer satisfaction.
- All other duties assigned.
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, go-to-market strategies, and P&L ownership.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as ERP systems, CRM platforms, and product management software (e.g., Jira, Aha!, Confluence).
- Experience managing technical or hardware-based product lines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field; MBA or technical master's degree is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in product management, product marketing, or technical sales, preferably within energy, electronics, software or similar field.
- Background in solar energy, power electronics, industrial equipment, or similar sectors.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and certification processes (e.g., UL, CE, ISO).
- Prior involvement with international markets and global product strategies.
