Job Summary
We are seeking a EXPERIENCED DENTAL SPECIALIST IN OUR OFFICE to join our dynamic healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Verify dental insurance benefits and coverage details for patients prior to treatment
- Process insurance claims accurately using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards
- Manage insurance prior authorization requests and follow up to ensure timely approvals
- Review medical records and dental documentation to support claim submissions and appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for efficient management of patient data
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare staff to resolve billing issues and answer inquiries
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office settings, particularly with dental or health insurance billing and coding
- Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance verification procedures
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EMR/EHR management systems
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical records management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally
- Prior experience with insurance prior authorization processes and medical billing is highly preferred
