Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Safety Manager to support and oversee field-based safety personnel across multiple construction projects. This role is highly mobile and requires frequent travel from jobsite to jobsite throughout the state and adjacent regions. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical expertise in occupational safety and health, mentor and develop field staff, and serve as a trusted liaison with clients and project stakeholders.
This is a senior-level position for a seasoned safety professional who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at managing both in-person and remote teams, and can balance technical rigor with strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Field Oversight & Technical Leadership
- Provide high-level occupational safety and health support on active construction projects, including complex or high-risk operations
- Work closely with the Operations and Logistic Manager on project scheduling and personnel availability
- Assist field safety personnel with hazard analysis, incident investigation, corrective actions, and regulatory interpretation
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Serve as a technical escalation point for OSHA compliance issues, inspections, citations, and client concerns
Personnel Management & Mentoring
- Mentor, coach, and develop field safety professionals to enhance technical competency, professionalism, and leadership skills
- Conduct field observations, performance feedback, and periodic evaluations of safety personnel
- Support onboarding and training of new safety staff
- Help manage and coordinate remote personnel, ensuring consistent communication, accountability, and performance across multiple projects
Client Relations & Project Support
- Act as a senior safety representative with clients, general contractors, and project leadership
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and technical credibility
- Participate in client meetings, safety planning sessions, and project start-up activities as needed
- Support business retention by ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction
Travel & Time Management
- Travel extensively throughout the state and nearby regions, often daily
- Effectively plan and manage a variable schedule involving multiple jobsites, personnel, and priorities
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and communication while working in a mobile environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of occupational safety and health experience in the construction industry
- 15–20 years strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple projects and managing field-based or remote personnel
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and best practices
- Proven ability to provide advanced technical guidance in complex construction environments
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize independently
- Strong personnel management and mentoring skills
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel extensively
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field OR Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHST, or equivalent
- Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or multi-project environment
- Experience supporting large or geographically dispersed construction operations
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to regularly visit active construction sites, including walking uneven terrain, climbing stairs/ladders, and wearing PPE
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments
- Extensive driving and travel required

Pay: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
