Position Summary: The Instructor for Human Touch Healthcare plays a pivotal role in making a positive impact in the lives of scholars within our healthcare organization and their eventual patients. The online Instructors are responsible for guiding scholars through the soft skills learning experience through video calls, responding thoughtfully and timely to posts in Canvas, sensing and responding to individual and group needs, and modeling best practices as an instructor.
Essential Job Functions
Supervisory Responsibility: This role does not have supervisory responsibility over staff.
Work Environment/Travel: This is a remote role. Travel will also be required to attend meetings and conferences. This position requires mandatory travel twice per year to attend Futuro Health’s Spring and Fall In-Person All-Hands events. Participation in these events is an essential function of the role, as these gatherings support strategic alignment, cross-department collaboration, and organizational effectiveness, which cannot be fully achieved in a virtual format. As a condition of employment, employees must be able to fulfill this twice-yearly travel requirement. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as required by applicable law.
Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand, and type for long periods of time. Ability to work irregular hours including after hours and weekends although this will be infrequent. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type: This position is part-time, non-exempt, with variable hours. Availability should include afternoons, evenings, Saturdays, and may extend to nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Job Functions
- Facilitate synchronous and asynchronous instruction modules, including reviewing and responding to discussion posts.
- Regularly communicate with participants about their progress and upcoming course activities.
- Track participation in the Canvas course system.
- Participate in debriefing calls with the facilitation team.
- Facilitate multiple 1-hour live sessions using a conferencing tool in Canvas.
- Weekly hours for prep and grading.
- Enforce academic policies.
- Enforce Futuro Health and online code of conduct.
- Provide real-time feedback to students.
- Remediate students, as appropriate.
- Complete all grading in the specified timeframe.
- Notify the Coordinator, Human Touch Healthcare on at-risk students and students who fail courses.
- Interact with students professionally, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback.
- Conduct weekly “live” video lectures and/or discussions (using Canvas Collaborate).
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of work or related to subject matter expertise.
- Prior experience teaching (preferred).
- Experience facilitating a course using an LMS like Canvas (preferred).
- Demonstrate effective facilitation skills during a 10-minute teaching demo.
- Background in allied health.
