Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. This vital role involves overseeing all aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining the integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess a strong foundation in various accounting software and financial concepts. As a key member of our finance team, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes, support budgeting efforts, and prepare detailed financial reports that inform strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Record, review, and reconcile daily financial transactions, including journal entries and general ledger activity
- Process accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice review, three-way matching (as applicable), payment processing, and vendor inquiries
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment application, aging reports, and customer follow-up
- Assist with payroll preparation, verification, and reconciliation, including tracking hours, deductions, and payroll-related liabilities
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations and investigate variances as needed
- Support inventory accounting by tracking raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods in coordination with production and operations teams
- Assist with cost accounting activities, including monitoring production costs, variances, and waste or yield data
- Prepare routine financial reports, schedules, and summaries for management review
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjusting entries, and documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate financial files to support internal controls, audits, and regulatory reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies and improve financial accuracy
- Respond to internal and external inquiries from management, auditors, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementing more efficient accounting procedures
- Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assigned to support the finance department and overall facility operations
Experience
- 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or food production
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel or similar tools: SAP Business1 experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in food manufacturing or regulated production environments
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost tracking
- Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
