You've run operations where every job is custom: in a sign shop, a large-format print shop, or a custom commercial construction company. You know one wrong measurement on a one-off job costs the customer money; you've stood on a job site figuring out why something doesn't fit the space, and you're the one who finds a way to get it done anyway. Signarama of Charleston is hiring an Operations Production Manager to own every job once it's sold, from the first design file through production and install.
The person who does well here has led designers, production staff, or install crews, and has done it on custom work. Sign industry experience is the strongest fit. Details decide this job: if a sign goes between two posts, it fits between those posts exactly. You'll put direction in writing clearly enough that the team can follow it on a job they've never done, and when you tell a customer or a crew something will happen, it happens.
For 13 years, Signarama of Charleston has designed, built, and installed custom signs across the Charleston area and beyond. We're a hall-of-fame Signarama location ranked among the top shops worldwide, and a lot of our work is the complicated, one-off projects other sign companies turn down. Full-time, on-site in Mount Pleasant, SC, with relocation assistance for candidates moving to the area. Leads the design, production, and installation team.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
Every day starts with a team meeting. After that, it's a mix of shop, phone, and job site. You'll check work orders against the approved mockup, stage install kits, and rework the schedule when someone's out, or an installer runs late. On site, you help work out the details with the superintendent and help determine what happens when we find electrical buried right where the sign is supposed to go. Designers, production staff, and installers do most of the hands-on work, but this is a small team, and you'll get your hands dirty when the job calls for it
