Fiber Network Technician β Field Operations
About the Position
Signal Cable Inc. is seeking Fiber Network Technicians to support telecommunications projects involving fiber installation, network service, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
This is a hands-on field position that requires technicians to travel between assigned work locations and perform work in a variety of outdoor, residential, and customer-facing environments. Technicians are expected to complete their assignments professionally while maintaining appropriate standards for workmanship, safety, documentation, and customer service.
The position is offered as full-time W-2 employment and is intended for individuals interested in consistent field work within an expanding telecommunications operation.
Day-to-Day Field Operations
Assignments may involve installing or servicing fiber optic infrastructure, testing connections, identifying network or service issues, completing repairs, and supporting other technical activities associated with active fiber projects.
Technicians are responsible for keeping accurate records of completed assignments, production activity, materials, testing information, and other required job details. Work must be performed according to project specifications, company procedures, and applicable customer requirements.
Field personnel are also expected to identify and correct workmanship or quality issues when necessary and promptly communicate delays, technical problems, site conditions, or other circumstances that could affect completion of an assignment.
All work must follow applicable OSHA requirements, job-site safety procedures, and company safety standards. Tools, materials, equipment, and other company-issued resources must be handled responsibly and maintained appropriately.
Experience & Skills
Previous experience in fiber optics, telecommunications, broadband, construction, utility work, or another technical field environment is preferred. Candidates with relevant hands-on experience and strong mechanical aptitude may also be considered.
Technicians should be comfortable using standard hand tools, field equipment, handheld devices, and other technology required to manage assigned work.
The position also requires good problem-solving and organizational skills, the ability to follow technical and operational instructions, and the ability to work effectively both independently and alongside other field personnel.
Professional communication is important because technicians may interact directly with customers, supervisors, and other project personnel throughout the workday.
Field Readiness Requirements
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel locally between assigned job locations.
Technicians are expected to maintain a professional appearance and conduct while representing Signal Cable Inc. in the field. Access to a truck, van, or SUV suitable for field operations may be required depending on the assignment, along with the appropriate tool set needed to perform the work.
Employment is also subject to applicable background screening and drug-testing requirements.
Compensation Structure
Compensation for this position is production-based, meaning earnings are influenced by completed work, workload, job type, project requirements, and individual productivity.
Specific production categories and applicable rates are communicated during the hiring process. Compensation practices are administered in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and overtime requirements.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
