JOB SUMMARY:
The Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to property damage caused by water, fire, mold, storms, or other emergencies. This role involves assessing affected areas, executing mitigation and restoration procedures, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring job sites are safe and properly documented. Technicians work closely with team members, customers, and project managers to stabilize damaged structures, prevent further loss, and support efficient restoration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform physical demolition at construction sites, removal of heavy debris and equipment and general manual labor at construction and/or demolition site.
- Walk the homeowner/business owner through the damage and explain the work to be performed.
- Meet with homeowner or business owner to go over documents and get signatures.
- Order appropriate drying equipment; makes sure it is properly placed and performing to expectations.
- Keep documentation, perform moisture readings, keep psychometric logs in order and submitted to supervisor.
- Accurately document all work performed in the appropriate project documentation platform(s).
- Check progress of drying from start to finish.
- Leaving jobsite with a clean and orderly appearance.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Drive company vehicle/truck, transport equipment, transport technicians.
- Out-of-state travel as necessary—occasionally for extended periods of time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- IICRC certification in Water Damage Restoration, Mold Remediation, or Fire and Smoke Restoration is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience preferred in all of the following: water damage mitigation, fire cleaning, mold remediation, and carpet cleaning.
- Demonstrate and continue developing production expertise in services, cleaning products, and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Able to pass DOT physical examination.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to climb stairs, scaffold and ladders.
- Ability to bend, squat, stand for extended periods, lift frequently and lift up to 75 pounds, unassisted.
- Be available 24/7/365 to handle any emergency.
- Full personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required including but not limited to full or half-face respirators, full body protective suits, hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vests, gloves, hearing protection and anything else specific to the job.
- In order to be cleared to wear a respirator a medical evaluation and fit test will be performed at a company approved medical facility. Individuals are required to be clean shaven for this.
- Flexible to be on-call as part of a rotating schedule.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May occasionally work in temperatures above 100 degrees or below 32 degrees.
- May occasionally work on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Will climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis
- Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
- Perform work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Working with/around dangerous tools.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
