CAD Designer

Position Summary

Sign Pro, Inc. is seeking an Experienced CAD Designer with a strong background in custom signage and fabrication. This role is responsible for developing accurate, production-ready CAD drawings and technical design solutions for a wide range of sign projects. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in signage materials, fabrication methods, and installation requirements, and works collaboratively with Project Managers, Designers, and Production teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed CAD drawings for custom signage, fabrication, and installation
• Create shop drawings, production drawings, and layout plans from approved designs, surveys, and specifications
• Independently determine construction details, mounting methods, and material selections when required
• Review architectural plans, site surveys, and work orders for accuracy and constructability
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, and Production Managers to resolve design and field challenges
• Revise drawings based on redlines, field conditions, permitting requirements, and client/contractor feedback
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, local codes, and project specifications
• Maintain organized electronic project files and documentation
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior designers or drafters as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CAD design experience, preferably within the sign industry or a fabrication/manufacturing environment
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required); experience with additional design software a plus _ WHAT SOFTWARE DO WE HAVE ???
• Strong understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, and installation techniques
• Proven ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and site surveys
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience producing shop drawings and production drawings for signs
• Familiarity with permitting, code compliance, and field verification ?????
• Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
