What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of Interpreting Services (Interpreter Coordinator) position at Sign Language USA, INC?
SLUSA is currently seeking a Coordinator of Interpreting Services in our foreign language interpreting department.
Job duties;
- Review requests for interpreting services entered into our scheduling system. Service requests come from hospitals, medical offices, schools, legal organizations, etc. Language requests can be in any of 300 languages.
- Assign an interpreter that works in the requested language pair (for example English/Spanish, English/Arabic, English/Hebrew etc). Ensure that the interpreter assigned has the appropriate skills and experience for the request.
- Actively work with SLUSA's recruiting department to onboard new interpreters and increase the number of languages SLUSA has available
- Resolve any interpreter issues. This is a management position which requires overseeing hundreds of interpreters.
- Provide customer care and support. You will be working with hundreds of customers each day. Candidate must ensure customer satisfaction, communication, and resolve any customer issues.
Additional Information:
SLUSA is a high volume interpretation and translation agency. Attention to detail, availability, and responsibility to work independently is required. You will be responding to and making assignments to hundreds of requests each day. Candidate must actively review open requests and work to ensure coverage.
Requirements:
Any applicant must have the following in order to be considered
- Prior experience coordinating and scheduling interpreter services
- Prior experience as a working/certified interpreter (preferred).
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of interpreter ethics
SLUSA frequently hires interpreters in a variety of languages including ASL and foreign spoken languages as well as CART stenographers/reporters real-time captioners, and written document translators.
SLUSA has strict quality control in place to ensure we hire only individuals who are highly qualified with certifications, language proficiency scores, education, and training.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
