What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2D Weaver position at Sigmatex UK Ltd.?
Working as part of the production team, to maximize efficiencies at all time, both on an individual basis as well as
part of a team, and to produce high quality fabrics, making best use of the materials being run on loom. To be
responsible for the safety for his/herself and that of others working in and around the immediate area.
Formal education/qualifications required:
Essential - High School Diploma or GED
Desirable - qualification in relation to manufacturing/engineering
Type of knowledge, experience & skills required:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
Weaving experience a plus
Business/Industry specific experience:
Desirable - previous manufacturing experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Previous experience in Aerospace/Automotive quality critical environment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Identify the correct yarn on the documentation and ensure Lot numbers used in the fabric are
entered clearly and accurately throughout the manufacturing process.
2. To operate the loom in line with training to ensure correct procedures are adhered to ie, quality
requirements.
a. Housekeeping of loom
b: Fabric quality·
c. General weaving
d. Roll Doffing
3. Adopt a "clean as you go" attitude in line with the FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Prevention Programs and adhere to recycling processes e.g. waste, cardboard etc.
4. Communicate with Team Lead or Technician if there are concerns around the fabric being produced.
5. Communicate with Shift Technicians regarding breakdowns.
6. Provide support to other members of the team including trainees. Teamwork is crucial to overall
manufacturing performance and achieving targets.
7. Maintain a high standard of general housekeeping.
8. Provide support to production in other areas when it is required.
9. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by management.
