Position Summary
Increase sales of meat and cheeses at the deli counter through customer engagement and interaction. Preparing and demonstrating new and or promoted products to store customers through sample arrangements and by demonstrating recipes using company products.
Essential Functions
- Interact with customers and management in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner to generate brand awareness to increase sales
- Prepare and demonstrate new and or promoted products to store customers through sample arrangements and by demonstrating recipes using company products
- Provide excellent customer service; assess the needs of the customer to best recommend products; use the product slicer to fill orders and or provide samples to customers; complete the order process for purchases.
- Clean the area and equipment as required by the supermarket and local health code
- Maintain store shelf standards and inventory through various merchandising strategies, including but not limited to rotation of products; ensure pricing matches current promotions, and current marketing and promotional materials are displayed.
- Notify management in case of an extraordinary issue, including but not limited to quality failures and overstock
- Maintain excellent working relationships with supermarket personnel and management
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of retail or face-to-face sales experience
- Food handler’s permit
- Driver’s License
- Personal vehicle that meets company standards for licensing and insurance
- MVR that meets Bar-S driving standards with review by Bar-S Human Capital
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, must be able to communicate effectively in person
- Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Fully fluent in Spanish
- Proven ability to motivate self and others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Food product and or consumer packaged goods sales experience
- Route sales supervision experience in the food products industry
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for a full shift of 6-8 hours, except for scheduled breaks
- Can regularly lift and move 30-pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand truck
- Can repeatedly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push, or pull to move 30 pounds
Work Environment:
- Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34˚ F for prolonged periods of time
- Able to travel up to 90% of the time
- Able to work weekends and evenings
COMPENSATION:
$48,299.00 - $55,539.00 annual salary, depending on geography, skills, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
· This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on the achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations
