What are the responsibilities and job description for the UI Designer (Website) position at Sigma Computing?

At Sigma, we are building a cloud-native business intelligence platform that allows users to tap into their biggest databases hosted in the cloud and easily conduct analysis and graph data; all without any programming involved. We are growing the product design team and looking for a Visual Designer who is singularly obsessed with functional beauty and visual appeal. You will be part of a talented team of designers and engineers on a shared mission to make data analytics highly usable and easily accessible to non-technical users.
Working with the Visual & Design Systems Leads:
- Deliver production-ready visual designs for Sigma’s user interfaces
- Supporting the Design Systems team by making all design components pixel-perfect and production-ready
- Ensure visual designs meet Sigma quality standards and are consistently implemented throughout the product
- Incorporate brand guidelines that ensure continuity across all company channels
Required Qualifications
- Strong visual design fundamentals
- Capable of rapid iteration, receiving feedback, and experimentation. You lean towards multiple rapid iterations of your designs to get early feedback.
- 3 years of visual design experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience translating user flows and wireframes into beautiful visual experiences
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; experience working with front-end developers
- Experience designing visual experiences for BI, data analytics and/or data visualization
- Experience with illustration, animation or motion design
Portfolio Requirements
- Your portfolio should emphasize designs that have been released commercially
- Your portfolio should emphasize your best work in the following areas: visual design, UI design, color, iconography, typography, illustration and animation
- Your portfolio should show the progressive evolution of your designs, including where the design started, significant iterations and the final design
