Prevention Specialist

• Looking for a dynamic, outgoing individual to join our Prevention Department at a local Non-Profit. The ideal Candidate will have experience working with the youth population
• This position will include scheduling and organization of vision screenings for children in the service area as well as and manage department volunteers.
• This position also includes performing education presentations
• Candidate must be willing to travel within the Lehigh Valley
• Computer knowledge required
• Qualifications
• Age of 21 or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to human services and/or education.
• Background in front-line delivery of community services – preferably those of an educational nature – on a professional, volunteer, or internship basis.
• History of working with preschool children preferably in an educational setting
• Working knowledge or aptitude for related equipment and software, internal and external databases, all other related computerized functions, functions of the human eye, eye conditions, and eye-related medical interventions.
• Ability to earn certifications required through the agency’s contracts with the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB).
• Daily access to a vehicle and capability to travel throughout Lehigh, Northampton, and Monroe counties and deliver services without restrictions. Licensed drivers must possess auto insurance.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and child abuse clearance, unless employed currently by the agency.
• Demonstrated ability to protect confidential information.
• Capability to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner.
• Personal qualities of integrity, service, credibility, and commitment.
• Ability to lift and carry items of up to ten (10) pounds in weight.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
