Art & Media Manager

The Art & Media Manager provides leadership and care for the Art & Media team by fostering the professional growth, health, and effectiveness of the department. This role focuses on developing people, aligning team members with the needs of productions, and ensuring artists and designers have the tools, skills, and support needed to contribute at a high level. Working in partnership with the Art & Media Project Manager, the Art & Media Manager helps steward project assignments and team
capacity while supporting the creative vision established by the Artistic Director, Scenic Designers, and other creative leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Art & Media Project Manager to coordinate and prioritize departmental work, ensuring projects are appropriately staffed and aligned with production timelines and needs.
• Shepherd the professional development of the Art & Media team by supporting career growth, mentoring team members, and helping individuals strengthen their skills and areas of expertise.
• Foster a healthy and collaborative team culture that reflects Sight & Sound’s values of Character, Commitment, and Competence.
• Monitor departmental workload and team capacity, helping ensure that the right people are aligned with the right projects while maintaining sustainable productivity.
• Encourage the ongoing development of technical skills and creative tools within the department so team members remain current with evolving industry practices and technologies.
• Support collaboration between the Art & Media team and other Production departments to ensure clear communication and effective project support.
• Participate in operational planning and resource management for the department, including contributing to the development and oversight of the departmental budget.
• All other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites:

• Passion for shepherding people and helping individuals grow in their gifts and professional abilities
• Strong leadership and relational skills with the ability to mentor and support a team of artists and designers
• Ability to maintain organization and flexibility within a fast-paced creative environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments
• Ability to foster a positive team culture and healthy working relationships
• Familiarity with creative workflows, tools, and technologies used in art and media production
