SIGA Technologies, Inc. (www.siga.com) is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Human Resources Generalist to join the Human Resources (HR) team based in Corvallis, Oregon. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Generalist supports the daily functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering compensation, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role also provides administrative support to the Director.
As a full-time employee, the Generalist is eligible for SIGA’s full benefits package including company paid medical, dental and vision benefits, short and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance and paid time off. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education. This may include anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
- Provide administrative support to HR Director
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs in coordination with internal departments and external vendors.
- Act as liaison for external HR vendors, including a Professional Employer Organization, and benefit and retirement plan providers.
- Support the administration and execution of human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications include:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field and eight (8) years progressive HR experience with at least four (4) years as an HR Generalist;
PHR/SHRM-CP highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations, and leave and benefits administration.

- Must represent the company and HR Department in a pleasant and professional manner when conducting business both over the phone and in person.
