About The Position
The Festival Cinema Floor Staff are responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and cinema going experiences to SIFF Cinema customers and guests during the Seattle International Festival.
Wage: $23.10
Employment Type: Temporary Part-Time
Employment Duration: April 6th - May 17th, 2025
Obligation: Candidates in this position should be available to work up to 10-15 hrs/week with opportunity to potentially pick up more hours throughout the festival.
Reports to: Senior Manager of Cinema Operations
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact with patrons and coworkers, sit and stand for extended periods of time, physically assist patrons when needed, and lift up to 30 pounds. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and positive cinema going experiences to all SIFF Cinema customers and guests
- Sell concession items while maintaining a balanced cash drawer, reporting any discrepancies to cinema management as needed
- Complete all assigned tasks each shift; including concessions, opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks
- Maintain basic cleanliness in concession area, restrooms, lobby and theaters, including completing daily & weekly cleaning tasks, and the cleaning of auditoriums after each screening
- Conduct auditorium checks, as scheduled throughout the shift, for quality control of picture & sound presentation as well as ensuring audience members are not being disruptive
- Ensure concessions stock is properly maintained throughout shift, restocking as needed
- Provide general information about SIFF and its programs to customers
- Communicate facilities issues and customer concerns to cinema management
- Keep current on SIFF Festival programming, series and events, and schedules
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown, when needed
- Closing shifts includes thoroughly cleaning concessions equipment, including popcorn machines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1 years of cash handling experience
- 1 years of customer service experience demonstrating excellence in
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Current Food Handler's Card & Class 12 Mixologist Permit obtained in WA State, or ability to obtain them
- Ability to work a flexible part-time (approximately 10-15 hrs) schedule consisting of nights, weekends and holidays with open availability May 7th- May 17th
- Demonstrated commitment to racial equity
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining customer-facing responsibilities
- High comfort level with computers and POS systems
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer focused environment
- Cinema Experience working in a comparable environment
- Love of independent cinema & film
- This is a temporary, part-time, hourly position.
- This role includes WA state sick time benefits, but otherwise does not include health benefits.
- This is an FLSA overtime eligible non-exempt position
- This position is a non-union position.
- Employees have access to discounts and passes to SIFF programming and programming and events hosted by neighboring Arts organizations
