Job Summary
Performs electrochemical brush plating of customer-owned and sample parts for production, oem, repair or refurbishment. Work is carried out in-house or at a customer’s designated location.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs plating work utilizing appropriate equipment and solutions as defined by the SIFCO Process.
- Adheres to all specifications as detailed on customer purchase orders.
- Assists Contract Service Manager in preparing accurate costs for the Quoting process.
- Works with Inside Sales to help resolve customer technical questions.
- Designs and makes tooling and fixtures to facilitate efficient and effective plating.
- Maintains equipment in working order, identifies items needing maintenance and repair.
- Maintains work area to assure safe and clean work environment.
- Follows all company policies, department procedures and job-specific work instructions.
- Establishes and maintains positive and professional customer relations when interacting with customer representatives.
- Travels as required to meet customer delivery expectations.
Essential Job Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit.
