We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead and oversee food service operations within a healthcare or assisted living environment. Duties
- Lead the planning, preparation, and presentation of meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, care plans, and regulatory standards
- Supervise and manage food service teams, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Conduct patient assessments to develop personalized nutrition plans that support health goals and medical conditions
- Oversee food safety management practices to ensure compliance with health codes and prevent contamination or foodborne illnesses
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization without compromising quality
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for diagnostic evaluations, tube feeding protocols, and nutrition support services such as parenteral or enteral feeding
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems related to dietary services, patient progress, and care plans
- Ensure adherence to all health regulation policies related to food service operations in healthcare settings
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare food service management with supervising teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics, and care plan development for diverse patient populations
- Expertise in managing food production processes while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documenting nutrition assessments and care activities
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment
- Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and nutritional standards
- Experience with budget management, cost control strategies, and resource allocation in dietary departments
- Ability to perform patient assessments including tube feeding procedures and acute care nutrition needs
- Skills in health coaching to educate residents on proper nutrition habits and lifestyle choices
