Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Kluge Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Kluge platen presses used for foil stamping, embossing, and die-cutting. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is committed to maintaining efficient production while meeting quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Kluge platen presses for foil stamping, embossing, and die-cutting jobs.
- Mount, align, and secure metal dies on the press.
- Adjust multi-zone heating elements, pressure settings, and machine alignment to ensure proper registration and quality.
- Set up and adjust mechanical arms and vacuum feed systems to accommodate a variety of paper stocks, including fragile, textured, and heavyweight materials.
- Continuously monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and identify issues such as misregistration, foil flaking, or paper warping.
- Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Kluge equipment to minimize downtime.
- Verify finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 3 years experience operating a Kluge platen press or similar die-cutting, foil stamping, or embossing equipment required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to adjust, troubleshoot, clean, and maintain industrial machinery.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read job tickets and accurately follow production specifications.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate and measure using fractions and decimals.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple production priorities.
- Dependable with strong problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift and move paper stocks and materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate machinery and make precise machine adjustments.
