Help Shape the Future of Behavioral Health Access

At Tatum Psychology Employment Group, we believe exceptional mental health care should be accessible, outcomes-driven, and delivered with integrity. Our organization was built on the vision that communities deserve more than fragmented care — they deserve a full continuum of high-quality behavioral health services that truly change lives.

Over the past several years, we have expanded across multiple cities and levels of care while maintaining a clear commitment to clinical excellence, measurable outcomes, and responsible growth. As we continue expanding our programs, we are seeking a Director of Business Development who shares that vision and is ready to play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of access to care.

This is not a traditional outreach role. It is a strategic leadership position responsible for strengthening referral networks, guiding marketing and advertising initiatives, and partnering with admissions leadership to ensure individuals who need care can access it efficiently.

The ideal candidate is both relationship-driven and analytically strong, capable of building influential referral networks while collaborating with leadership on digital marketing strategy, brand positioning, and admissions performance.

Position Overview

The Director of Business Development leads referral development, admissions performance oversight, and strategic growth initiatives across the organization’s behavioral health programs. This role is responsible for strengthening referral pipelines, developing strategic partnerships, overseeing admissions conversion performance, and collaborating on marketing and advertising initiatives that expand program visibility and census stability.

The Director works closely with executive leadership, admissions teams, marketing partners, and clinical leadership to ensure sustainable growth aligned with the organization’s mission and outcomes-focused model of care.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Strategic Referral Development

  • Develop and maintain high-value referral partnerships with hospitals, psychiatrists, therapists, healthcare systems, treatment providers, and community organizations
  • Strengthen legacy referral relationships through consistent, strategic engagement
  • Identify and cultivate new referral channels and partnership opportunities
  • Represent the organization at professional conferences, industry events, and community forums
  • Deliver presentations that highlight clinical excellence, program differentiation, and outcomes
  • Align referral development efforts with census goals across multiple levels of care

Admissions Strategy & Performance Oversight

  • Collaborate with admissions leadership to optimize referral intake, conversion rates, and patient access to care
  • Analyze admissions trends, referral data, and conversion metrics to guide strategic outreach efforts
  • Identify opportunities to streamline admissions processes and strengthen referral-to-admission pipelines
  • Support alignment between referral partners, admissions operations, and program capacity
  • Partner with leadership to develop data-informed growth strategies tied to performance metrics

Marketing, Brand, and Advertising Collaboration

  • Partner with executive leadership and marketing vendors on brand positioning and campaign strategy
  • Provide strategic insight into digital marketing initiatives including SEO/SEM, paid advertising, and digital media campaigns
  • Collaborate on content and social media strategies that support referral growth and brand awareness
  • Evaluate marketing performance and ROI across campaigns and outreach initiatives
  • Support advertising strategies designed to expand regional visibility and market reach

Market Intelligence & Expansion Strategy

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging service opportunities
  • Identify gaps in behavioral health services within target markets
  • Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership regarding program growth and market positioning
  • Support expansion initiatives and community engagement aligned with long-term organizational strategy

CRM & Growth Performance Management

  • Maintain accurate referral tracking, outreach activity, and follow-up within CRM systems
  • Monitor referral patterns and conversion metrics to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Develop data-driven outreach plans aligned with performance outcomes
  • Provide reporting and strategic insights to leadership on growth initiatives
