About the Role:
- The Logistics Specialist, Journeyman analyzes and coordinates the ongoing logistical functions of a firm or organization. Responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources.
- The Logistics Specialist, Journeyman will oversee the procurement efforts of the Central Kitting Activity and will oversee the management of the Central Kitting Activity’s government-furnished property. Other duties may be assigned.
- The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
What Makes a Successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will be able to interact with external vendors to support Central Kitting Activity operations and ensure proper accountability for government-furnished property is maintained. The successful candidate will assist the Program Manager in ensuring warehouse services and materials are provided promptly. A Navy supply background is preferred, but not required. Must have the ability to identify suppliers, research goods and services effectively, oversee the purchase request process, and verify delivery of items. Must have the ability to assess suppliers, products, and services critically. Familiarity with requesting cost proposals. Must have the ability to schedule vendor services effectively. Assists the Program Manager with other tasks as required.
US citizenship is required; the applicant must be able to pass a public trust and similar background investigations, which would lead to the issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC) card.
Data entry experience with Citrix Database and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Industry SAP is a plus. Duties will include interacting with and logging into an ERP account. Experience working with MS Office, Outlook, and Adobe PDF software programs is required.
Must haves:
- BS degree in a Business, Managerial Discipline, or other relevant Business-Related Discipline.
- Six years of additional work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Associate’s degree plus four years’ additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree
- Required at least three years’ experience in Supply Chain/Logistics and three years of experience in SAP/Navy ERP.
