Scope of Position
This Shift Lead assists the Store Manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. This job organizes Associates and delegates tasks so that Associates can create and maintain the Starbucks Experience for our customers. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks & Caribe Royale standards.
Position Requirements
- Minimum one year experience in a customer service-oriented position; constant interactions and fulfilling the requests of customers.
- Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment with a sense of alertness.
- Must possess outstanding guest services and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Executes store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Prepare and coach the preparation of food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients.
- Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.
- Assists new associates by training and positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
- Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to associates on shift.
- Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and by collaborating with store manager and supervisor to find new, creative, and effective methods of recognition.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment, machinery.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
