Housekeeping Houseperson - Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando LBV South

We are currently accepting applications for an energetic, experienced Houseperson to join the team here at Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South. Our award-winning property is 300 suites with 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting, pre-function, and event space. We have a well-tenured management team, which runs this very busy hotel and convention center in an exceptional manner with high standards, expectations, and strong results orientation.

Scope of Position

The Houseperson is responsible for assisting the Suite Attendants by providing the necessary supplies needed to complete the cleanliness of the rooms in a timely manner as well as the removal of the linen and trash from their carts.

Position Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs.
• Adhere to safety, rules and company policies.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery.

Primary Responsibilitie

• Greets guests immediately with friendly and sincere acknowledgment.
• Follows all daily projects as assigned.
• Guest corridors, elevator landings, trash, vending areas, guest laundry, recycled bins and stairs are cleaned on a daily basis and carpets are vacuumed in compliance with the hotels standards of quality and productivity.
• Delivers items requested by the guests and/or suite attendants promptly.
• Maintains carts and work areas cleaned and organized.
• Maintains suite attendants with proper stock of clean linens, towels, amenities, and supplies.
• Removes trash and dirty linens from suite attendant carts and hallways.
• Maintains linen and trash chutes clean and organized.
• Maintains proper level of supplies and amenities in stock.
• Uses safety signs when cleaning floors/carpets in public areas.
• Assist suite attendants as required with the stripping of trash and linens in the guest rooms.
• Spot cleans carpets and furniture.
• Cleans and returns equipment to assigned storage areas.
• Reports all maintenance issues, damaged or missing property.
• Report any suspicious activity.
• Ensures that radio and telephone etiquette is followed and radio calls answered immediately.
• Promptly returns all loss and found items.
• Follows key control policy.
• Displays a professional image at all times through appearance, dress and conduct.
• Maintains and adheres to our company values.
• Work on projects determined by the housekeeping department
• Upholds and follows company’s policies and procedures.
• Follows all safety standards such as Hazardous Communications, Blood borne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Proper Lifting Techniques, and Housekeeping Safety.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Education

• High school diploma preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language (Second language is a plus).
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Able to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 100 pounds.
• Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift (up to 8 hours)
