Accounting & Finance Specialist

Job Summary:

The Accounting & Finance Specialist (AFS) will perform accounting, customer service and

organizational tasks to promote the financial health of the company.

The AFS will be responsible for entering all accounts payables, reconcile all accounts payables,

assist with accounts receivables reconciliation while tracking all invoices to ensure the company

receives payment for goods and services offered to clients while maintain the accounting files.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain accounting filing systems; including scanning for electronic files and

organization of physical documents

• Manage new client and customer set ups

• Maintain and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or

mailing attentions

• Reconcile accounts payables and company credit card purchases

• Maintains and reconciles fixed asset system and prepares standard month end journal

entries

• Review general ledgers to ensure accruals are appropriate

• Provide financial analysis and reporting in support of business decision making and

provide accounting support as needed for routine transactions as well as larger strategic

initiatives

• Identify financial risks or issues and continually provide accounting support on a

proactive basis

• Assist with answering and screening of high-volume calls

• Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested

• Research discrepancies and past-due amounts

• Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month

• May assist with reconciling accounts receivable

• Assists with financial aspects of audits

• Provides support and analysis for quarterly and year end reporting

• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for finance and accounting as needed

• Maintain accounting filing systems

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficient with QuickBooks accounting software and standard office and accounting

equipment

• Working knowledge of organizations applicable financial practices and procedures, as

well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Office with special emphasis in Excel

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• At least three years accounting experience preferred

• Full Charge Bookkeeping experience preferred

• Accounts payable experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times
