SUMMARY

Become a member of a small, detail-orientated department that assists base-area and on-mountain facilities by ensuring resort inventory is delivered on time and in a courteous and friendly manner. Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

  1. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  2. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  3. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  4. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms and freezer.
  5. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  6. Uses computer to enter records.
  7. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  8. Marks materials with identifying information.
  9. Opens bales, crates and other containers.
  10. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  11. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  12. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  13. Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  14. Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse or pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  15. Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  16. Prepares parcels for mailing.
  17. Maintains inventory records.
  18. Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  19. Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  20. Flexible working hours.


RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Resort certification on any necessary equipment.
