SUMMARY

At Sierra, our Security Officers provide security functions to both internal and external guests to ensure an enjoyable work and play environments for all. Work to prevent thefts and fraud around the ski resort and help insure a safe and orderly environment for guests and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities are (but not limited to):
- Provide uniform, vehicle and foot patrol of company property and grounds.
- Provide safety protection of all company property, employees, and guests, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Assist with Ski Patrol, Guest Services, and other departments as needed.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and suspected crimes across the resort.
- Complete daily reports, logs, and other required written documents.
- Assist with locker inquiries and provide services to these guests as needed.
- Security activities, traffic control, aid to the public as required (i.e. lost keys, first aid etc., help resolve conflict using diplomatic tact).
- Operate vehicles including, but not limited to, cars, trucks, and snowmobiles when authorized by supervisor to transport guests and/or products to designated locations.
- Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
- Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of any specialized training modules as required by the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be currently registered with the California Department of Consumer Affairs as a Security Guard/Patrol person or Proprietary Private Security Officer prior to starting date. Registration includes Live-Scan fingerprinting, Ca. Dept. of Justice and FBI background investigation. Certificates of Completion of State mandated Security Officer training may be required for certain positions. Non-licensed applicants may also be considered. Must have valid state driver’s license. Resort Certified on for any equipment used.
