In this position you will develop relationships with existing carriers and customers to monitor movement and ensure on-time delivery. You will negotiate rates and contracts as needed and monitor day to day activity on all loads. You will provide a consistent, high level of customer service to all customers and respond to requests promptly and effectively.
Essential Duties:
· Develop new and grow existing carrier/customer relationships (lead generation, cold calling, and referrals).
· Build strong working relationships with carriers in assigned regions
· Negotiate with carriers and customers for the appropriate rate to meet revenue and profit margin goals, as well as to facilitate an appropriate business relationship.
· Manage all freight in transit by obtaining adequate updates from carriers/drivers to monitor movement and ensure on-time delivery.
· Maintain constant contact with carriers to secure additional truck capacity and manage existing business agreements.
· Able to move loads through in house TMS and other customer software platforms from acceptance to the point of delivery and invoicing.
· Maintains ongoing relationships and monitors activities with customers and prospects
· Research and plan for new or existing business development
· Communicate with customers when necessary to advise shipments delay and/or information necessary.
