Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets all guests upon arrival in a warm and professional manner.
- Builds relationships with key customers.
- Ensures all tables are properly set prior to seating guests.
- Seats guests and accommodates special requests whenever possible.
- Upon seating, offer guests menus and informs them of server’s name.
- Communicates any necessary information (special occasions, food allergies, dietary restrictions, etc.) to the appropriate server and/or the Front of the House manager.
- Maintains a professional, courteous, reassuring attitude when confronted with a hostile, impatient, or irate guest.
- Answers phones professionally and in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Cleans Menus and menu pages of food and stains when returned to host area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Outgoing and upbeat personality.
- Must have exceptional grooming habits with a clean and neat personal appearance.
- Excellent verbal and telephone skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to receive and follow instructions in both verbal and written forms.
- Ability to work and participate in a team environment.
- Ability to multitask and work calmly and effectively under high volume, fast paced environment.
- Must be able to problem-solve, be self-motivated, and organized.
- Ability to read and write fluently.
- Requires basic computer skills.
Education and Experience: Junior or senior in High School working on college preparatory curriculum, High School graduate, or College student or graduate.
- No previous restaurant experience or training required, but it is a plus.
