Siena University invites applications for the 11-month, live-in position of Residence Director. Two positions will be available for a July 1st start date. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the opportunities for intellectual and personal growth for the Siena residential community. Some of the specific responsibilities for this live-in position include:
- administration of residence halls/facilities housing 250-600 students
- selection, training and supervision of paraprofessional staff
- advising residents on issues related to residence hall life and their personal, social and academic development and making appropriate referrals as needed
- planning educational and social programs
- developing and enforcing policy
- adjudicating student conduct policy violations
- serving as a member of an on-call duty rotation
- participating on division and campus-wide committees
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- previous experience working in student affairs or residence life
- ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds
- strong leadership and organizational skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work a non-traditional work schedule in a team-oriented setting
- ability to live on campus
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field
- previous experience in residence life, particularly as a Residence Director

This is an 11-month position, living on campus is required.
This position has a competitive salary of $47,670 and includes a furnished one-bedroom apartment, board plan, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for on-campus professional development with other student life departments.
