ROLE IS A MIXTURE OF ONSITE AND REMOTE
Project Logistics Specialist is responsible for the execution of transporting all goods to our project sites. Duties include coordination of transport plans, compliance requirements and project shipments. Good communication skills, working in a project environment and good computer skills are required. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
The Siemens Gas & Power Generation business is a global leader in the design, build and integration of power plants to meet expanding energy needs in domestic and emerging markets. Transportation & Logistics (TLO) group within GP G is an integral part of the organization for successful integrations of large and industrial scale power plant worldwide. GP G P LOG GPL NA, based in Orlando, FL is responsible for project cargo management supporting multiple business units under Generation division.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Prepare transportation proposals and responsible for transport execution for Domestic and international large scale power plant projects.
o Interface with Sales, Proposal Management, Purchasing and Engineering disciplines to determine Project Proposal logistics scope and strategy.
o Obtain and evaluate carrier bids to select the best cost and service options in support of Project Proposals.
o Performing national and international observation of the market to identify tendencies and assist in incorporating new service providers and/or technologies into the logistic portfolio.
o Mentor and help improve in-depth logistic knowledge of co-colleagues.
o Provide Transportation Estimates for project bids based on equipment sourcing, expected shipping volumes, project schedule, location and delivery terms.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o 5-8 years of progressive logistic/transportation experience supporting a global commercial EPC / Power firm or project forwarder/carrier.
o Bachelor’s degree.
o Demonstrated success and depth of experience with requirement regarding the preparation of and execution of all the various transportation modes.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o Because of the operations in the South Americas, being bilingual Spanish and English is preferred.
o Knowledge of various domestic and international documents used in regards to transportations and import/export.
o Basic knowledge in regards to the Incoterms rules and definitions
o Knowledge in regards to the Maritime terms and conditions
o Proficient skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
