Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Engineering & Maintenance, the Senior Mechatronics Engineer plays a critical leadership role in designing, integrating, validating, and optimizing highly automated plastic molding, assembly, and packaging systems for medical device and packaging applications.

The Base Pay Range For This Position Is
$89,220 - $122,672
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.

What You’ll Do
As a senior technical engineer within Manufacturing Engineering, you will drive automation strategy and execution across existing and new production lines while collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, integration, and deployment of automated molding, assembly, and packaging cells
- Serve as the technical authority for mechatronics, automation, and robotics
- Design mechanical components and sub‑assemblies to meet demanding performance, reliability, and compliance requirements
- Provide advanced engineering support for injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion systems
- Lead complex troubleshooting involving controls, robotics, vision systems, sensors, servo drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Design and validate machine safety systems (safety PLCs, interlocks, light curtains, E‑stops)
- Integrate and program industrial and collaborative robots, EOAT, vision systems, and precision motion control
- Develop and approve URS, RFQs, equipment specifications, and supplier documentation
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA, PFMEA), and design qualification (DQ) activities
- Author, execute, and approve IQ/OQ/PQ protocols in compliance with FDA and ISO requirements
- Manage change control, deviations, revalidation, and engineering documentation (SOPs, PMs, spare parts)
- Lead automation capital projects from concept through production release, including FAT/SAT
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, ISO) as a subject matter expert
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across highly automated, high‑throughput manufacturing systems
You will collaborate extensively with Engineering & Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Technical Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and OEM partners—serving as a technical leader across manufacturing sites and supplier networks.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of industrial engineering experience, preferably in medical devices, plastics, packaging, or automation
- Strong expertise in robotics, industrial controls, vision systems, and automated production cells
- In‑depth knowledge of precision plastic molding, tooling, and automated manufacturing processes
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments with validation and qualification requirements
- Background with leading automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Beckhoff, Cognex, FANUC)
- Strong understanding of QMS, validations, and compliance in regulated industries
- Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary projects and influence cross‑functional teams
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to support 24/7 manufacturing operations and travel as needed for FAT, SAT, and validations
- Self‑driven, hands‑on leader who excels in complex, fast‑paced environments
