We are looking for a Senior Proposal Manager in Raleigh, NC to review request for proposals, commercial/technical documents, drawing packages, site specifications, equipment and testing specifications, and other engineering related documents to develop service solution for transformers.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Identify and mitigate project risks and liabilities.
- Register request for proposals for transformer services from customer in Salesforce.com database and track proposal stages.
- Participate in negotiations and proposal revisions, as necessary.
- Develop costs to execute project based on documentation review, original equipment manufacturer standards and experience with similar projects executed.
- Develop tailored solution proposals for power transformers; solutions aligned with the customers’ needs and expectations.
- Apply technical expertise in power transformers to support the sales team to grow the service market on other original equipment manufacturers.
- Act as the key technical expert in power transformer to support the main gas and electric provider in California.
- Develop service solutions, prepare service proposal for submittal to customer, including technical and financial descriptions, terms and conditions and any documentation such as forms, schedule, etc.
- Comply with Siemens Energy transmission services processes and requirements, including cost/price determination, profit, cash flow, contractual terms and conditions, limit of authority and compliance requirements.
- Receive orders from customers, review/negotiate documents to certify proper resources are allocated for operations team to execute the project and maintain business targets.
- Prepare order entry documentation to transfer awarded project to operations and contract administration team.
- Participate in internal and/or external kickoff meetings as required to facilitate the smooth transfer of orders.
- 10% domestic travel required.
- Telecommuting permitted.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience.
- Full term of experience must include: project management including subcontracted scope of work for parts, transport/relocation of transformers, IPB, Fire Deluge systems, etc.;
- Knowledge of design, repair, upgrade, and installation requirements of transformers;
- Understanding of project requirements;
- Microsoft Office Suite;
- Customer relationship management software such as Salesforce;
- Reading and reviewing electrical schematics; and
- AutoCAD.
- Experience must include 5 years with: design, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning or services for transformers, auto transformers, GSUs, up to 230kV or greater.
- Experience must include 3 years with: contract management.
- 10% domestic travel required.
