As Root Cause Analysis Lead Engineer within the Gas Services Operational Excellence team, you play a critical role in driving structured problem-solving across the organization mainly in the engineering area. You are a trusted facilitator and technical problem-solver who leads cross-functional teams through disciplined methodology-driven investigations to ensure complex technical issues are addressed thoroughly, systematically, and sustainably. In this role, you guide teams from problem definition through hypotheses testing to most probable RCA statement, ensuring consistency and accountability. You apply proven analytical methods such as Kepner-Tregoe and Apollo Fault Tree to identify, validate, and eliminate hypotheses.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional root cause analysis investigations for technical and operational issues, ensuring thorough analysis and sustainable outcomes.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, such as Kepner-Tregoe or Apollo, to identify, analyze, and validate the causes of problems.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis workshops and investigation sessions, guiding cross-functional engineering teams through a consistent, disciplined, and effective problem-solving process.
  • Contribute to the development of future Root Cause Analysis Leads by mentoring and coaching team members on advanced problem-solving techniques and best practices.
  • Coordinate and support Gas Services–wide initiatives that strengthen a proactive, data-driven problem-solving culture across the organization.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Experience within the Gas Services business or a comparable industrial environment.
  • 5 years or more of demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis investigations of complex technical issues using recognized methodologies such as Kepner-Tregoe or Apollo.
  • Strong analytical, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • A passion for continuous improvement that inspires others, with a willingness to leverage new technologies, including artificial intelligence.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
