Production Supervisor

A Snapshot of Your Day

As Production Supervisor within the New Components division at the Winston Technology Center, you will lead first shift manufacturing operations that support the production of large generators for customers around the world. You will work closely with production teams, manufacturing support functions, and other shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while maintaining business continuity.

Your day will involve overseeing production activities, allocating resources, addressing operational challenges, and driving adherence to quality and safety standards. You will leverage your understanding of manufacturing and CNC machining processes to support efficient production execution and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, open communication, and accountability while ensuring manufacturing objectives are achieved.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead first shift manufacturing operations within the New Components division, ensuring optimal resource allocation, personnel management, and training compliance to meet production targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
• Oversee the manufacturing of new components for large generators, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, quality standards, and strategic manufacturing objectives.
• Monitor production schedules, address bottlenecks, and coordinate with other shifts to ensure seamless handovers, business continuity, and efficient manufacturing operations.
• Drive operational excellence and manufacturing efficiency through a continuous improvement mindset, implementing and enforcing quality assurance protocols that minimize defects and rework while identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Enforce all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards on the production floor to maintain a zero-harm workplace and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Conduct safety walkthroughs, investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a safe, productive, and accountable workplace culture.
  
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
• Experience working in heavy industrial manufacturing, specifically with large generators, turbomachinery, or similar precision manufacturing environments, is highly preferred.
• Previous CNC machining experience, including machine setup and machining operations knowledge, is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, a continuous improvement mindset, and a proven track record of driving process improvements while fostering a safe, productive, and accountable workplace culture.
• Strong operational leadership skills, including team leadership and coaching, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with production scheduling and planning, resource allocation, and shift handover management in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance, quality control standards, root cause analysis (RCA), continuous improvement methodologies, and process improvement principles.
• Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
