Business Development & Marketing Intern – Future Workforce

Position Overview

Join the Future Workforce team at Siemens Digital Industries Software and help shape the future of digital skills development. In this role, you'll support the launch and growth of our industry-recognized microcredentials—a strategic initiative that bridges the gap between academic learning and industry readiness. You'll work directly with the Engagement Lead to drive three core pillars: Quality-Assured Microcredentials, Software Solutions, and Real-World Experiences.

This semester-long internship offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership role, with potential for continuous engagement beyond your initial term. You'll gain hands-on experience in business and program development, ambassador program growth modeling, marketing strategy, and data-driven decision-making—all while contributing to a program that's transforming how companies develop their digital workforce transformation readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create compelling marketing content that communicates the value of microcredentials to students, academic institutions, and enterprise customers—including case studies, blog posts, webinars, and customer testimonials
  • Support customer pilot programs by coordinating outreach to academic partners and enterprise clients, gathering feedback, and documenting success stories that demonstrate program impact
  • Analyze engagement and program data to measure pilot success, track adoption metrics, and provide actionable insights that inform go-to-market strategy and product improvements
  • Build and maintain dashboards using Power BI or similar tools to visualize key performance indicators, engagement trends, and pilot program outcomes for stakeholder reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment on messaging, positioning, and customer success strategies
  • Research competitive landscape and market trends to identify opportunities for differentiation and inform pricing and positioning strategies for microcredential offerings
  • Support event execution and promotion including webinars, conferences, and design challenges that showcase microcredentials and engage target audiences

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (junior or senior preferred) in Business, Communications, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, compelling content for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and ability to learn new tools quickly (Power BI, Salesforce, Monday.com or similar platforms)
  • Analytical mindset with ability to work with data, identify patterns, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment
