Position Overview:
As a Labor position at Siemens Mobility, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30am - 4:00pm.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Through a variety of methods, move material between locations and departments and outside storage.
- Receive work assignments, oral and/or written instructions, from supervision.
- Operate forklift trucks and/or manually push pallet jacks to move within or between designated areas:
- trash, and dump scrap into larger scrap containers at designated areas.
- Operate fork truck to move larger scrap containers from designated areas.
- Operate floor cleaner, vehicle sweeper throughout the facility to maintain good housekeeping
- Assist in maintaining and keeping work area and equipment in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Perform other related work as assigned and directed.
- Assist in maintaining a clean organized facility through excellent housekeeping skills
To thrive in this role, you have:
- High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education.
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation.

- Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required

The base rate range for this position in Lexington, NC is $15.50/hr - $16.94/hr. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
